Ao Nang has it all! Beautiful beaches, island getaways and fun nightlife await in the beachside resorts of Ao Nang, Krabi. Popular with tourists and backpackers, there are lots of Ao Nang hotels to choose from in Krabi at various prices but choose carefully and your money can go far.
We’ve spent several weeks in Ao Nang, Krabi over the years and these were our 9 best Ao Nang Hotels near the beach we stayed at (all of which we’ve stayed at and paid for with our money – so they are very honest reviews).
Whilst there are cheaper places to stay like Ao Nang hostels, these are all mid range 3 to 5 star Ao Nang hotels with swimming pools and nice rooms.
All of these best Ao Nang hotels cost between 880 Thai Baht to 3,500 THB (£20 – £75; $20 USD – $95 USD; €23 – €87) a night.
Note the best hotels in Ao Nang Beach can be a quarter of the price in low season compared to high season (November to March).
And remember to get the best value hotels in Ao Nang Krabi at the best prices, book several months in advance – also try to book cancellable hotels so you can swoop on any last minute Ao Nang Beach hotel discounts.

Ao Nang Best Hotels and beach resorts – 9 best cheap and affordable hotels in Krabi
1. Hotel Adam Krabi (opened 2024)
The newest Ao Nang hotel on this list, Hotel Adam Krabi in Ao Nang is a 5* hotel that opened in February 2024.
One of the most beautiful and Instagrammable hotels in Krabi, Hotel Adam Krabi looks incredible with each room having their own private pool balcony, with stunning views of Ao Nang’s hills.
From the incredible rooftop pool to the beautiful design and colour scheme inspired by Krabi’s ancient hills and tribal drawings, Hotel Adam Krabi is easily one of the best hotels in Ao Nang that we’ve stayed in.
Even though this is a 5* hotel in Krabi, the price is pretty affordable for a luxury hotel – we paid around £75 (around 3,500 THB or $95 USD) for a last minute stay at the Hotel Adam Krabi in April 2024 during Songkran season.
From its awesome a la-carte breakfasts to its private pools and opulent interiors, here is our honest review of staying at Hotel Adam Krabi in Ao Nang >

2. Panan Resort Krabi
Panan Resort in Ao Nang, Krabi is a 4 star resort hotel centrally located close to numerous bars and restaurants and a short walk to Ao Nang beach. It is in the heart of town meaning you are just a few steps from numerous restaurants including the neon lights of the infamous RCA street.
We’ve stayed at Panan Resort Krabi on several occasions and paid between £40 to £60 / $50 to $75 USD / €45 – €70 per night including a daily buffet breakfast. We once received a complimentary upgrade from a Deluxe Cliff View room to a Deluxe Premier Pool View room.
Definitely one of the best things about Panan Resort is their three swimming pools including a children’s pool, a huge sprawling jungle style swimming pool with several areas and caves to explore plus a rooftop swimming pool complete with bar and cabana style seats.
We loved our time at Panan Resort Krabi – our room was spacious and clean and the various swimming pools and swim-up bars made this a relaxing and fun place to stay in the heart of Ao Nang.

3. Pakasai Resort, Ao Nang
Despite being in the centre of Ao Nang, Pakasai Resort seems a world away from the bright lights and loud nights of Ao Nang Beach.
Pakasai resort is a huge Ao Nang hotel complex set in a lush jungle setting – and best of all, it is only a few minutes walk from nearby Nopparat Thara Beach, arguably Ao Nang’s best beach and much quieter than the main beach.
We stayed at Pakasai Resort in Krabi in December 2022 and paid £45 / $55 USD / €50 per night excluding breakfast. We received a complimentary upgrade from a Superior Deluxe room to a Honeymoon Chalet.
Pakasai Resort Krabi is located in lush tropical woodland and very proud of its environmental credentials and tropical scenery. You can see the surrounding natural area around Pakasai Krabi best by going up the stairs to the infinity pool. The views from most rooms if you are located up the hill are also quite stunning.
The infinity pool at Pakasai is definitely the star of the show, with ample seating plus a really good poolside bar with delicious food at really reasonable prices.
The daily happy hour at Pakasai is also really good with 2 for 1 on all drinks excluding beers and soft drinks. Beers here are also really cheap, the cheapest beers of any hotels we stayed at in Ao Nang. The poolside bar at Pakasai was the best poolside set-up of any hotel we’ve stayed at in Krabi.
Whilst Pakasai is one of the older resorts in Ao Nang (and a very hard mattress!), its setting is serene with glorious hillside views and nature at your fingertips – I mean, we’ve never stayed in a hotel before or since where monkeys swang by our balcony!

4. Avani Ao Nang Cliff Krabi Resort
One of the final hotels we stayed in was the Avani Ao Nang Cliff Beach Krabi Resort. We chose this hotel as some of the rooms at Avani Ao Nang Cliff Beach Krabi Resort have sea facing rooms with a view of the islands plus a hot tub on the balcony.
We stayed at the Avani Ao Nang Cliff Beach Krabi Resort and paid £70 / $86 USD / €78 per night for a Sea View room excluding breakfast.
The rooms at Avani Ao Nang Cliff Krab Resort were very clean – our balcony view of the ocean was nice and you could see all the far away islands plus long-tails boats going to and fro on the water. The tub on the balcony was small but a nice addition.
The star of the show at Avani Ao Nang Cliff Beach Krabi Resort was the infinity pool which offered nice views of the coast plus a small poolside bar and restaurant set-up.
There was also a second pool by the reception area on the lower levels plus an additional rooftop bar on the highest level.
The location of Avani Ao Nang Cliff Beach Krabi Resort is good, literally on a hill a few metres back from the main strip of bars and restaurants – we also saw a monkey swinging through the trees at the car-park!

5. Sea Seeker Krabi Resort
Around a 10 minute walk downhill to Ao Nang Beach, Sea Seeker Krabi Hotel is a sister hotel to the previously mentioned Ao Nang Panang Resort Hotel. It is set against a backdrop of big mountains and palm-trees and is much quieter than many other Ao Nang hotels we stayed in.
We first spent four nights at the Sea Seeker Krabi Resort during low season in September 2023 and paid around £22 / $27 USD / €25 per night for a deluxe cliff facing room including breakfast. We were lucky enough to get a free upgrade to a pool view room with partial sea view.
We more recently returned for 8 nights at the Sea Seeker Krabi Resort during peak season in April 2024 and paid around £41 per night including breakfast – it is an affordable Ao Nang hotel we intend to return to again.
The pool at Sea Seeker Krabi Resort is very much the focal point and it has a large number of sun loungers – the swim up pool bar was also very popular particularly during happy hour between 4pm and 6pm daily (Buy one, get one free).
The rooms at Sea Seeker Krabi resort were immaculate and the beds huge – we also really enjoyed the breakfast which had an omelette station and noodle station.
Great for families, the Sea Seeker Krabi Resort has a children’s club and nursery facilities plus a good social schedule like darts events or yoga.
We also REALLY rate the Kaze Japanese seafood restaurant at Sea Seeker Krabi Resort. We ate there twice for lunch and we’d rate it as the best Ao Nang Hotel and beach resort restaurant we’ve eaten at. We had the lunch special which was grilled fish with rice, pickles, sides, appetisers, soup and fruit for 250 THB.

6. Anana Ecological Resort Krabi
For lack of a better term, Anana Ecological Resort Krabi can be best described as ‘affordable luxury’. It also set away from the hustle and bustle of Ao Nang’s busy and bustling bar strip meaning it is a great place to base yourself in Krabi, if you want peaceful surroundings.
We stayed at Anana Ecological Resort Krabi in November 2022 and paid £68 / $84 USD / €76 per night including a daily buffet breakfast. We received a complimentary upgrade from a Thai studio room to an executive studio suite.
The Anana Ecological Resort Krabi is a 5 star eco-sustainable resort located in a quiet, rural area surrounded by lush forests and hills. It is a short drive from the main Ao Nang beach; free shuttles to the beach are provided regularly throughout the day and into the evening.
The Anana Ecological Resort Krabi has two luxurious pools, a rooftop bar and onsite restaurants with all room packages inclusive of breakfast. They also operate their own farm and garden which grows many of the ingredients used in the restaurants.
You can see the surrounding natural area around Anana Ecological Resort Krabi best by going to the rooftop bar located on the seventh floor, open most nights (especially alluring during sunset).
Anana Ecological Resort is very proud of its environment ethos and bills itself as an ‘eco-sustainable’ resort, including water-saving features and no plastic usage on-site.
The star of the show at the Anana Ecological Resort Krabi is the luxurious poolside villas – if you can afford to pay the extra, we’d highly recommend it.

7. BlueSotel SMART Krabi Aonang Beach – Adults only
Our final hotel recommendation for the best hotels in Ao Nang Beach is BlueSotel SMART Krabi Aonang Beach – Adults only.
We chose it as it has the most incredible rooftop infinity pools overlooking the ocean in a prime position for golden sunsets and aerial / panoramic beach views – it also has another two pools on the ground floor. That’s right, this Ao Nang hotel and beach resort has 4 pools!
A short 2 minute walk from the ocean, this has to be one of the closest hotels to Ao Nang beach itself (it is just behind Centara Beach Resort Ao Nang).
If you want to escape children, this Ao Nang adults only hotel is a good place to unwind – breakfast is pretty epic too with a huge breakfast buffet, plus you can hire mopeds from reception or have a massage in the in-house spa.
Another neat touch in the rooms at BlueSotel Ao Nang Beach is a huge TV that has Netflix – we aren’t so sure about the blue neon strip lights in the room (although they can be easily switched off!)
We liked our stay at BlueSotel SMART Krabi Aonang Beach – Adults only primarily for the rooftop infinity pools.
We stayed four nights at BlueSotel SMART Krabi Aonang Beach for four nights with breakfast for £40 / $49 USD / €46 per night in low season (September 2023).
Check rates and availability for BlueSotel SMART Krabi Aonang Beach on Booking.com and Agoda.com
8. Centara Anda Dhevi Resort and Spa, Ao Nang
We stayed at the Centara Anda Dhevi Resort and paid £43 / $53 USD / €48 per night for a deluxe room excluding breakfast.
Whilst the room was a little more basic than other Ao Nang hotels listed previously that we stayed at, the Centara Anda Dhevi Resort and Spa Krabi is very good value for money and has reliable WiFi.
Close to both Ao Nang night markets and Nopparat Thara Beach, the Centara Anda Dhevi Resort and Spa is ideal for a family break and very child friendly with a children’s pool, nursery / creche plus a free pool table.
The area surrounding Centara Anda Dhevi Resort and Spa is very quiet with multiple restaurants nearby (great during the rainy season if you want to venture away from the hotel but not go too far).
There is also a huge 7-Eleven (and we mean huge!) that can also be found a couple of minutes walk down the road.
If you want a quiet hotel with a good swimming pool and close to the more peaceful Nopparat Thara Beach, then Centara Anda Dhevi Resort and Spa is for you.

9. Sugar Marina Cliffhanger Hotel
Our final best hotels in Ao Nang Beach recommendation and review is one of Ao-Nang’s new budget hotels, Sugar Marina. This chain operates several beach resort hotels in Thailand so know what they are doing in terms of service and hospitality.
We arrived early at Sugar Marina Cliffhanger Ao Nang Hotel and were warmly greeted by the reception staff – the welcome drink was really nice and they even drove us to our room in a pick-up van, despite it only being 50 metres away.
The Sugar Marina Hotel interiors feel quite industrial with exposed pipes in the roofs and lots of metal / grey walls; a bit like warehouse loft style living. There were lots of interesting design touches around the hotel like animal heads on the walls (some real, some not!).
These design flourishes at Sugar Marina Ao Nang continue in the room – we had pictures of rock climbers and framed mountaineering carabiners; apt given our room has a spectacular view of the Ao Nang mountains. The in-room beach mats, beach towels and umbrellas were also really appreciated.
There are two pools at Sugar Marina Hotel in Ao Nang and they are OK for a cooling dip (but they aren’t really set up to laze around all day, like you would at say Panan Resort or Sea Seeker).
We also really like the breakfast room at Sugar Marina Ao Nang Hotel, with white tiles, jungle illustrations and views of the mountains.
We stayed at Sugar Marina Cliffhanger Hotel in Ao Nang, Krabi for three nights in September 2023 (low season) and paid around £26 / $32 USD / €30 per night including breakfast.
Check rates and availability for Sugar Marina Hotel on Booking.com and Agoda.com
These were the 9 best value and most affordable Ao Nang beach resort hotels we have personally stayed at. Note prices in low season in Krabi can be much lower than in high season.
