One of the trendiest neighborhoods in Bangkok right now is Talat Noi – nestled on the banks of the Chao Phraya river, Talat Noi is packed with striking street art, riverside views, gorgeous galleries and cool cafes.

One of the most historical neighbourhoods in Bangkok, Talat Noi (aka Talad Noi) is an epic and endearing enclave full of hidden alley-ways.
From the riverside delights of Hong Sieng Kong Cafe to the secret rooftop at Timo and Tintin, we’ve had decadent drinks and brews with views galore – plus we love the interiors and courtyard vibes of recently opened 965bkk.
Here is our guide to the best Talat coffee shops in Bangkok with photos. We last visited Talat Noi in May 2026 so all of these Bangkok cafes are still open as of summer 2026.

How to get to Talat Noi
There are several ways to get to Talat Noi in Bangkok by public transport.
Our preference to arrive at Talat Noi is usually to arrive by the Chao Phraya Express Orange flag boat and jump off at stop 4 (the Marine Department). This is the closest drop-off to the best street art and coffee shops in Talad Noi, plus the sublime Rong Kuak riverside shrine.
Alternatively, you can visit Talat Noi by taking the MRT to Hua Lamphong Station and walking from there (take exit 2).
Another way to get to Talat Noi by river is to get the nearby river shuttle from either IconSiam mall or Khlong San Pier to Si Phraya Ferry Pier – both river shuttles cost 8 THB one way per person and alight next to River City mall.
Talat Noi coffee shops and cafes
1. 965bkk
On our latest 2026 Talat Noi trip, we visited 965bkk coffee shop and cultural complex, which opened in summer 2025 in a former Chinese merchants warehouse that is over 200 years old.
Comprising a gorgeous garden cafe, gift shop and lounge, 965bkk is now one of the most popular cafes in Talat Noi and it would appear they might have been overridden by influencers and become a victim of their own success. So much so, tripods and excessive photography is now banned here and you must order your drink before you enter the cafe and garden area.
Inside the lounge and garden area, it is a peaceful respite with several seating areas and an upstairs area looking out over the garden. It felt like a Moroccan medina or epic European villa to us, with curved doors and arches, beautiful brickwork and lush greenery – the drinks weren’t bad either!

2. Hong Sieng Kong Cafe and Gallery
Possibly the best known coffee shop in Talat Noi if not the whole of Chinatown, Hong Sieng Kong Cafe and Gallery is a beautiful place to enjoy a coffee on the river or take tea in a traditional setting.
Offering panoramic views of Bangkok and the Chao Phraya river, Hong Sieng Kong Cafe and Gallery is best described as a vintage cafe with an array of antiquities and art to enjoy whilst you sip your drinks.
Boasting a prime riverside terrace and Chinese courtyard style interiors, Hong Sieng Kong Cafe and Gallery is a nice way to escape the sun or enjoy a coffee with Chao Phraya chills – just don’t expect a sense of solitude or calm with your caffeine fix during peak season.
Please note you must pick and pay for purchases as you enter before taking a seat – sounds like they know influencers too well eh!
3. Timo and Tintin Talat Noi Art Cafe
Pssst – we thought about ‘gatekeeping’ this Talat Noi coffee shop because it is so nice and empty when we visited ; we even had the rooftop space overlooking Talat Noi and the nearby Chao Phraya River.
So much quieter than nearby Hong Sieng Kong, Timo and Tintin coffee shop feels like a pop-up gallery with lots of weird and wonderful installations across its several floors.
Order your coffee (the coconut vanilla latte was lush), choose a sticker for your drink then choose which room to drink it in.
We went straight to the rooftop terrace and were amazed to find it totally empty – definitely a fantastic find and one of the best views to look out over Talat Noi.
Please note Timo & Tintin usually closes around 5pm or 6pm so this isn’t a Bangkok at night venue; head to nearby Hong Sieng Kong for that.

4. Mother Roaster Talat Noi
Mother Roaster is a super cool cafe and coffee shop – hidden away on the top floor of an old garage – walk up the wooden steps from the workshop basement to a beautiful wooden terrace with seating (and dozens of cute cats and kittens dozing in the afternoon sun on our visit!).
Once in the coffee shop, you are greeted with a wonderful wooden interior and the strong aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Some of the interior is quite quirky with bicycles nailed to the wall and strategically placed musical instruments.
Hipster as, Mother Roasters Talat Noi is a great place to hang out and try coffee curiosities and mingle with fellow tourists and expats as soft music emanates from the speakers.
Mother Roaster coffee has several locations across Bangkok including Pratu Phi, Sutthisan and Dadfa Lasalle plus a new Song Wat Mother Roasters cafe.
5. 32Bar Speciality Chocolate
One of the newest pop-ups and cafes in Talat Noi, there is now a small 32Bar Slow Speciality Chocolate and coffee shop located next to the rusty abandoned car that Talat Noi is so famous for.
Crammed into an old industrial space next to the old car, their speciality is Thai craft chocolate plus they also sell coffee and ice-cold drinks to take away. Prices start from just 60THB; just follow the bright neon sign that promises ‘ chocolate’.
6. Sol Heng Tai Mansion
A wooden old Chinese style Hokkien house in Talat Noi, Sol Heng Tai Mansion centres around a reflective pond and has a small cafe and terrace area to enjoy with the epic surroundings.
We’ve read it sometimes also doubles as a diving school where divers practice in the pond outside – alas we’ve never seen scuba diving here but on one our visits to Sol Heng Tai Mansion, people were taking a dip in the water; a nice way to cool down on a high temperature day in Talat Noi.
Over 200 years old, parts of the Sol Heng Tai Mansion are now starting to look a tad ruinous but the facade and entrance look magnificent, especially the red entrance door.
Admission fee to the So Heng Tai mansion in Talat Noi is 50 THB but you then get a discount voucher for the same value towards your drink.

7. Citizen Tea Canteen
Time for Thai tea! A traditional Talat Noi tea-room (try saying that with a mouthful of tea!), Citizen Tea Canteen is a fine thing to do in Talat Noi.
Upon arrival, you might get a sense of deja vu when entering the tea room even if you haven’t been before – that is because the tiled entrance to Citizen Tea is very bling and often features on Instagram with wannabe models or selfie-stealers.
Try different blends of Thai tea or Kopi (coffee varietals) at Citizen Tea Canteen. Housed over two floors of a traditional Thai house and hidden down the back-streets of Talat Noi, Citizen Tea canteen also doubles as an artisanal shop and store selling local crafts including clothes and homeware items.
8. Photocafe (part of Photohostel)
Just a stone’s throw from the river’s edge, Photohostel is the perfect place to stay, hidden among the narrow lanes and alleyways, and has the superb Photocafe.
Located in a traditional Thai house that is over 200 years old and has been lovingly restored, Photohostel and PhotoCafe is centred around a huge courtyard and cafe that is chock full of vintage camera equipment and prints. On the upper level, there is a restaurant too with Chao Phraya views.

9. La Cabra Coffee Roasters
A little dollop of Denmark in Bangkok, Talot Noi is home to La Cabra Coffee Roasters.
Originally established in Aarhus in Denmark over 10 years ago in 2012, La Cabra now has locations in New York, Dubai and this, their first Bangkok coffee shop in Talat Noi.
A cute compact coffee shop with wooden interiors and a small outdoor area, La Cabra is a cool place to enjoy your caffeine.

10. Cai Yong
This former steel shophouse turned Chinese style cafe and boutique hostel is elegantly decorated and a must visit when in the Talat Noi area.
The cafe serves a selection of beautiful looking Chinese teas and desserts, with highlights including Chui Xian Milk Tea (Chinese tea roasted with sugar toasted caramel and fresh milk), plum tea and lemon tea.

Across the river is one of our favourite places to stay in Bangkok – The Quarter Chao Phraya, a hotel overlooking the river with a huge swimming pool.

Another branch from the same Quarter hotel chain – The Quarter Hualamphong is conveniently located in Chinatown / Talat Noi.
